COMMISSIONS
Ocassionally, Aristeo is approached by a people who saw his work at an outdoor art festival or came across his website and sometimes even by word of mouth and they ask him do a commission piece. As Aristeo is a versitile painter, no subject is off limits and below are pieces commissioned from various clients throughout the country.
I was born in 1972 in a small town in Wyoming. I was the type who never fit in with one specific crowd because my head was always buried in a sketchbook or because I stood observing my surroundings rather than interacting with them.
I went to high school and college in Wyoming but still looked beyond the small town. I knew I needed to be surrounded by people of all backgrounds and to feed off the energy of a big city. Ten years ago I made my way to Chicago and found everything I wanted: I found a purpose to art.
People have always been my focal interest because I learned early on man is the measure of all things good and bad. We are the top of the food chain and therefore have the greatest affect on the world.
My paintings are done with two goals in mind. One is to be original and the other is to force the viewer to have a response beyond the typical opinions based on personal tastes.
My paintings dig down and pull back the veil of ignorance and sometimes attack hypocrisies within our culture. Most works are personal to the artists, who paint them, but I want my paintings to say something to everyone beyond the typical gaze of the pleased eye. I paint confrontation and originality.
